History
The Westside Wrestling Club was formed in 1970 with approximately 35
wrestlers working out at the West Branch Y.M.C.A. In 1978 the Club moved
to the basement of Gateway Reality at 90th & Maple. In the Spring of 1981
the Westside Wrestling Club completed its new building located at 6026
Wenninghoff Road and moved into the permanent facility. The Club is now
owned and operated by the Club members and participates in the Greater
Omaha Elementary Wrestling Association and City of Omaha Parks &
Recreation Leagues. The season begins the 2nd week of November with
sign-ups and runs through the month of April when the Club sponsors their
annual freestyle tournament.
